"A white fox? I've never seen one of those before... I've seen a red fox, a brown fox, and even a Gray Fox, but never a white fox...", Abyss replied, his curiousity piqued, "This I must see...", he mused, thinking.
"That's good. I wouldn't want you carrying too much. But don't think for a moment that I'll spoil you. You'll soon learn to pull your own weight. Also, I expect you to study hard.", Abyss replied, "... Aside from that, though, I don't really expect all that much... I'm really not that much of a slave driver, so to speak... And, like I said before, I'm pretty laid-back...". Abyss thought things over in his mind. Would it really be okay to do this? As long as she stayed within his territory, no demon would be foolish enough to attack her, knowing (or thinking it knew, anyway) that such a course of action might provoke Abyss to attack, but could she really be expected not to try to explore? Abyss decided to cross that bridge when they got to it.

Kenzy nodded as he spoke. She never really had been spoiled, and as far as she knew she always carried her own weight - though in her mind it was something other then what abyss had meant. The only thing that puzzled her was this studying consent. "What do you mean study?" she asked her gaze back up on him as she spoke her eyes curious and confused all at once.
This entire journey was going to end up being a whole lot more complicated then what she even knew to think. Her free for all mind was going to be limited now that she was with this man, she'd be less able to do most the things she had before, but at least she would have somewhere to go. Some place to call home and better yet someone to keep her safe. She smiled faintly and shifted her gaze back to where they were walking.

"You know... Like learning, only from books... You've never gone to school, have you?", Abyss said, suddenly realising just what it was he'd gotten himself into. It seemed the girl had had nothing... Or, at least, not anything involving someone who cared about her. The thought made Abyss sigh. Not having someone who cared about you sucked. Even for his rather low expectations.
Abyss didn't have to be a Suval to know that the wheels were turning in the girl's head... And it didn't take mind reading to know what she must have been thinking... It was probably difficult, to have one's seemingly infinite freedom limited suddenly, even if it was for a good thing. Abyss had to admit that he had no clue what that was like. He hadn't had total freedom in his life. At least, not in the part of his life he could remember... So how could he possibly know how taking the girl in and limiting her freedom could make her feel? <I can't seem to win these days, can I?>, he thought ruefully to himself.

Kenzy listened, learning from books. She shook her head slowly " Whats a school?" she asked finally skipping slightly now to keep up with him. "Don't know what that it is but it doesn't sound fun." she said shortly after her free hand pushing some of her loose pink hair out of her eyes. Slowly her gaze shifted back up to the man.
"I'll do my best" she said softly after the long silence that had drawn out between them, she'd stopped walking at this point too, her small face turned up to look at him her face a mix between fear and hope. She smiled faintly to him

"Schools are where humans send their kids to learn important stuff. Apparently, most humans are too lazy to teach their kids themselves, and can't be bothered to buy books for their kids to learn from.", Abyss explained, trying to keep his slight frustration out of his voice, "Laziness is something I can kinda understand, but kids have to learn, so ya might as well put in the effort to teach them or give them what they need to learn on their own. That way, you can make sure the job gets done the way you want it done. Or I dunno. Maybe having someone else teach them is better... After all, teachers don't usually have other jobs, do they?", he added, shrugging. Abyss had a feeling raising Kenzy would be a tall order, but someone had to do it, and it may as well have been him.
"That's pretty much the idea.", Abyss responded, stopping as well. "Something wrong...?", he asked, not sure why she'd stopped.
