The story of a young demon's drive!

MISC2 stretched as he walked along the city known only as Sunnington! For a town with the name Sun, it's a huge drag. The Sword and Cross is wierd, the church here is run by rich snobs, and there's a constant war between Heaven and Hell! Even the NIGHT CLUB here is called "Turning Gre-... is that a night club?

Curiously, our Suval heroine hopped through the doors to find himself in a world beyond his own... a place set JUST for wasting yourself with alcohol! What is this place? A gift from above to break human life's monotony? It had to be! Look at all this! MISC2 jumped onto a chair, and looked around, smiling. Such a nice change from the outside drag! Such madness! Such... ... ...is that alcohol?

"Alcohol... I... I'd like a drawn..."

But as the words passed through MISC2's mouth, she was filled with worry. How do I look? That's right... I LOOK LIKE I'M TEN YEARS OLD! How the hell will they give a little child like me alcohol? Maybe they know I'm... naaah. No one knows I'm Suval... right? RIGHT?! Or... are they Angels? Are they Demons? IS BOSS HERE?! Nonono! I'm a good little Suval... don't want to get beat... I'll... I'll see if there's Butterflee here! If I find Butterflee here, then Boss don't get mad! Yeah... um... um...

Rykoyo slipped inside the club, for no other reason than because he had the whim. Not a drinker, himself, and disliking the back room, it would seem odd for him to be seen there if one happened to know him. Regardless, he took a seat on a barstool and raised a hand to the barkeep. He was about to open his mouth to order something when he noticed a small...boy? Girl? He couldn't tell. Whichever, the child was seated at the bar, as well, and apparently had attempted to order alcohol. An eyebrow raised and he lowered his hand. The barkeep was shaking his head, and saying,

"I don't think so. Not unless you can somehow prove you aren't as young as you look. I run a respectable establishment, and I won't have it said otherwise. Look here, though. I can get you a soda, a water, and maybe even a virgin drink. Take your pick."

Faintly amused by the exchange, Rykoyo settled in his seat to wait.

Sigh... again with this... it's always age isn't it? What an odd punishment... a childish age... with no ability to engage in the wonders of adulthood! And of course I mean the drinking and voting! What were YOU thinking? Oh, yeah. I know, Pervert. >.>

MISC2, disappointed with the predictable way of response, replied slowly. "Root beer mixed with another soda. Surprise me." And before the bartender could even ask, MISC2 replied once more, "YES, ice. Quickly." So no alcohol... maybe another day... yeah, right. Forever stuck at the forbidden age of 10... right before the growth spurt. Am I cursed to remain looked down upon forever? Why is misfortune always among the minority? ...For every Sun, there is a Shadow. It's sad.... that I'm the shadow of my Sun...

Hmm? Another person. New man. Hmm...

"What? You expected me to say something interesting? Perhaps pull something... supernatural? Get real. Reality is the only plane of existence, and a horrible one, at that. Heh..." MISC2 pulled a personality swap, and effortlessly pulled a smile. "So! What's your name? Rane? Ryan? Rykoyo? Heh, don't be shocked. One look at you, and I knew you were someone extraneous! I'm um... oh..." She turned her head to the ceiling... mmmnnn... forgot again. MISC2 pulled out his parka's sleeve and carefully read out his name.

"Mim-in-i-tin-um-i-tin-um-un Ic-clarn Sir-Ben-et Ca-le-oi-i Crii-an-trai! But... MISC2 is a better name! Miscellaneous No. 2, so just call me that!"

[Rykoyo]

The barkeep smiled faintly and went about filling the order. Ice first, a little under half of the glass, then the root beer, and finally orange soda.

"Here you are. Enjoy. That'll be a dollar if you have it. Don't worry about it if you don't."

Rykoyo grinned, but showed no other reaction to being adressed, though a mental alarm when she said his name without him giving it. Instead, he waited until the child ran down, and responded point by point.

"Heh. Not at all. It only struck me as somewhat amusing to see one of your apparent age trying to order alcohol. Regardless of your true age, you'll not find the barkeep budging on that."

A pause, then,

"Yes, my name is Rykoyo. Nice to meet you, MISC2."

He dropped his voice to a whisper and added,

"You may wish to be careful how you use that gift of yours. Publicly, at least. You are you a Suval, are you not?"

Mimic sipped the root beer-orange concoctions lovingly, and pulled out a bill of paper money. She looked at Ryokoyo, and frowned upon his question upon being a Suval. "You should shush, too! What is known between two does not need to be spoken outside, y'know! Heehee, but I did throw you off there, didn't I? Mmhm... I love it... ..."

I must know...

MISC2 couldn't help. He searched through Ryokoyo's mind once more, and found... found... oh, oh, OH! Memories, fresh memories! Mmn... but... it doesn't answer his question. Is this man with her now... Is he an Angel? Demon? W-w-who? ...Is it safe to know... I must... no. I won't remember. He stopped and turned away. Bad bad bad Suval... bad bad bad...

"I.. I'm... ...Nng..." MISC2 cautiously reached into her parka, and pulled out a small photo, and tucked it away. Slowly, he walked up to Ryokoyo and whispered something, very very quickly. "...I-I never tasted alcohol... could maybe... I have this gourd, it's empty and..."

[Rykoyo]

He chuckled softly with a whimsical grin, saying,

"I'll take that as a yes. And you needn't worry here. The people here are...more understanding, you could say. But you're right. What is said here does not leave here. As for throwing me off...Schrodinger says 'maybe'."

At the whispered revelation, though, he sobered into thought for several moments. Finally, he sighed, relenting.

"I see. Well, I'm probably going to regret this, but I'll see what I can do."

He turned to the barkeep with a wry smile.

"I can vouch for this one. One of the 'Others'."

Obviously unhappy to hear this, the barkeep grumbled,

"One of them, eh? Well, you're responsible for making sure she isn't seen drinking. I have standards to maintain."

Nodding assent, he returned his attention to MISC2 once again.

"Go ahead and quickly order what you would like. You can hand him your gourd and he'll fill it for you. I'd reckon he'll like that better since he won't have to use a glass."

A small grin of worry grew to a smile to a full blown hug for Ryokoyo. But the time of happiness was soon short-ended. It's forbidden for Shadows and Angels to touch... what about Suval? I... I hope I haven't endangered his life... I hope not... please no... ...But.. the barkeep.. does he know about... most likely. Doesn't seem to be pleased... I hope I can stay responsible. Staying quiet, he smiled

"Thank you, Ryokoyo. I'd... well... oh... that wine. I think it's wine... or..." He pointed to a wine bottle near the center shelf. Still finishing the last of the root beer-orange, she unlatched the gourd from her hip, and put it on the counter.... why do I still have this gourd? I can't seem... stupid Suval thing...

"Thank you again, Ryokoyo. I... I won't be foolish with this!" ...Are Angels bad? This one was so kind.. even when I'm a Suval, when I'm working for Demons... why? Nng... can't remember anything... ...nevermind. MISC2 looked up to his new Angel friend, looking at him questioningly, asking if it's allowed to drink this right now.

[Rykoyo]

He smiled and briefly returned the hug before breaking it.

"You're very welcome."

He watched as she finished her soda and ordered wine to fill her gourd. At his look of askance, Rykoyo said,

"Go ahead. It's a bar, after all."

MISC2 smiled, and brought the gourd to his lips. Worryingly, she drank, and immidietly parted from the gourd. It was sweet... but... ah! Aaaah. "Ack! Ryokoyo... my, throat... it burns! Nng..." Painful... but it was sweet! Like the soda... but... something else... so odd... but so inviting, too!

After shaking off the sting, MISC2 looked at the gourd again. He took another drink, closed his eyes at the sting, and turned to Ryokoyo. "Don't worry, Ryokoyo. I'm... I'm fine. It hurts a little, but it should disappear if you push through, right? Hehehe... " MISC2 blushed, and took another small drink before looking at the lid for the gourd. Should I, should I not?

[Abyss]

Abyss opened the door to the bar. An odd sight, to be sure, seeing as clouds did not usually open doors. As he walked up to the bar, he looked around. There was the usual assortment of humans, with some demons and angels thrown in for good measure. Over by the jukebox was the Fonze. Jughead was woofing down fries as if he'd been told there would be no more fires to be consumed if he didn't. Then there was Forever Alone Guy drinking himself until he puked in three... Two... One... Abyss sighed boredly as the man yawned in technicolor. Over by a group of ladies was Troll Face, about to have the stuffing beat out of him by Bluto. Yes, it was indeed slightly amusing to arbitrarily name bar patrons. Especially the Mob Men over in the corner table. Up at the bar, there was Average Joe and... Meh, just a kid drinking booze. Or something... "I'll have what that guy's having...", Abyss said, indicating Rykoyo using an arrow made of mist, too lazy to even look at the drink menu. <I wonder if the old man knows where I am yet?>, he thought to himself, well aware of the possibility that the 'kid' might be a Suval, but not really caring.

[Rykoyo]

As MISC2 took his first sip, Rykoyo sighed with a wry smile and shake of his head when the burn hit her.

"If you say so. In general, though, pain is usually your body saying things like 'I'm being hurt!' and 'Get me away from this stuff!'. 'S why I'm not a drinker, myself. Your choice, though. Just stop drinking when the buzz hits, okay?"

His attention was drawn to the door as it swung open. What greeted his eyes was... well, if he was a drinking man, he'd pass it off as too much alcohol. What seemed to be a cloud entered the club and settled at the bar.

"What I'm having, huh? I'm pretty sure the barkeep isn't that much of a literalist. Forgot all about ordering."

Glancing up at the arrow, he said aloud,

"Just a cola for me, please."

With that, he fished out a dollar bill and passed it over to the barkeep, who made it disappear with the ease of long practice.

MISC2 nodded at Rykoyo's comments. They made sense... the body is... good at stuff like that... "M-m-makes sensible, Ryokoyo," He stopped in thought... Sensible... sensible... wrong word? "...Ehh... um... Ryokoyo, I feel a little dizzy. Does alkaline do that to you? Make you all... wooozy? I don't think I drank that much... did I?" She put away the lid for the gourd in her pocket and took another drink... it's sweeter now... and the sting actually feels nice on the tongue... is this bad?

And then there were three as a new... cloud? Cloud? Arrow? Um... "Mastre Rykoyo... um... how much did I draw? I... I'm pretty sure it wasn't that much... was it? And..." MISC2 lowered her voice, and whispered again. "That cloud... do you know him? He... he's different. I... lemme see..." MISC2 took a good look, trying to identify a person in there. Upon seeing something, He closed his eyes, and delved in...

WHYYYYY?! WHYYYYYYYY?! Oohhh... not feeling... *vomit*

WRONG PERSON! MISC2 shook the thoughts out of her head, and focused harder...

<I wonder if the old man knows where I am yet?>

There we go... ...What did it mean? But this person... with the cloud and the mist... "Ryokoyon, you... you know him? He..." MISC2 lowered his voice as lower as possible, and talked into Rykoyo's ear. "He talks funny-like. As if he's being searched for."

[Abyss]

<Hey, kid. Quit going through people's minds. It's rude.>, Abyss thought after hearing the Suval's voice, <Also, it doesn't help to lower your voice when the person you're talking about is right next to you.>. To Rykoyo, he said, "So... What brings you here?". The mist extended to cover the area in front of him on the bar, then retracted to reveal a dollar bill. “Me, I just needed to sell some stuff earlier. This just happened to be on the way home.”, he continued, sighing boredly. His remark reminded him that he should probably go home soon. <I locked the doors to the sublevels, so Kenzy should be fine.>, he thought to himself. To the bartender, “Could I also get a soda to go? Kid-size, or whatever it’s called, and no alcohol. It’s for my kid.”, he said, another two dollars suddenly appearing on the table under the cover of dense mist. “I take it the kid’s a Suval?”, he asked no one in particular, not really caring who heard. Not that he needed to hear the answer. Abyss hydrokinesed some of his soda to his mouth as he waited for an answer.

[Rykoyo]

"Yeah, it generally has that effect on people. Especially if you're not used to it. Best to stop now. Any more and you'll probably pass out."

The mysterious cloud drew MISC2's attention, and even as Rykoyo held up a hand to forestall her and answer, he apparently went ahead anyway, for there was a whispered question in his ear. Rykoyo raised an eyebrow as he considered the form beside him.

"No, I can't say that I do. As for that, that's his own business, whoever he is. Be careful, okay? You'd probably get an answer if you just asked."

To the shrouded form beside him, he answered,

"Nothing special. Just following a whim. And apparently, yes. My apologies for him jumping the gun. I vouched for her, so I feel responsible, even though there's no real reason for me to."

He shrugged, with a "Eh, can't be helped" expression writ clear on his face.

MISC2 huffed, and put the lid on the gourd. "Fine, Ryokoyo. I'll stamp drinking..." She turned to the cloud figure, who apparently was here because it was here. Guess that's how it goes... But as Abyss ordered the soda for his kid... Hm... No mind reading, no mind reading, no mind reading... ...I'll just ask. Most likely I won't get an answer, this person being all... mean. "Y-y-you have a kid? Is it someone my age? Someone I can play with, maybe?" Ah... that'd be nice, someone to play with. Mmhm! And then he could go to their house and they could go to his house... wait... house... home...

"O-oh... I... I've got to go... but! ... ... Mister Rykoyo? I... I can't um... this is embarrassing... but I can't remember how to get home!" He put his head on the counter, and sighed. What a mess...
