**Continued from Kelby's Accepted Application RP Sample**
It was dark by the time Kelby and Tigersly made it home. Some of her clothes had frozen to her in places and every move hurt. Tigersly had ceased to comment over thirty minutes ago and both of them were grateful to the old man who had taken the time to show them home. She dug her keys out of a cold pocket with blue-tinted fingers and somehow managed to get the key out despite their numbness.
As she opened the door, warm air swelled around and she breathed deep. For the first time since this morning she felt like it was a blessing not to be able to die. Kelby wandered in very slowly and made sure to lock all six locks behind her. She set Tigersly gingerly in his nest and wondered into the bathroom to draw a bath. She curled up on the floor as the heated mist from the tub curled around her and released the clothes from her skin. When the tub was full, she climbed in with all her clothes on to be sure she didn't rip off any skin.
She pulled off each piece of clothing carefully, but despite her best efforts, the water was soon tinged with pink from all the places she pulled her skin free while it was still numb and frozen. After everything was removed, Kelby settled in. Gradually she got the energy back to wash her hair before dragging herself back out of the tub.
Kelby dragged herself back into the main room and made sure to take brief stock of her apartment. She was worried because there had been a string of robberies in the area. Kelby didn't realize that her cramped, run-down apartment wasn't exactly prime burglary territory. Her main room was her bedroom, her living room, and her kitchen all rolled into one. It was largely dominated by the large pile of pillows and blankets she used instead of a bed. In one corner she had a sink and some cooking utensils, largely unused. She had quit eating a long time ago, and the pains had long since faded. The bathroom was small and squalid with mold everywhere and her sink was lop-sided. Anyone who weighed more than she did would notice that the floor wasn't totally sound and anyone over 100lbs would be likely to fall through. She had a closet behind her bed, but when there had been rats in the complex she had found one inside it and hadn't opened it since. She didn't remember when that had been.
Tigersly murmured sleepily at her from the nest and she crawled in with him. He was still cold although no longer coated in frost, so Kelby held him against her until they were both comfortable and drifted off to sleep. She had to get sleep where she could because she never knew when someone would come to take her out hunting again. Hopefully she would do better next time.
