Abyss trotted through the forest, occasionally checking to see if the girl was keeping pace okay. "It shouldn't be much further.", he said, noticing a split tree which he used as a landmark for finding his way home. Then he saw it: The entrance to an ancient temple. "We're here.", he said, pointing to the temple, which he'd cleared most of the traps out of. "This temple is where I live. Inside are many rooms. It doesn't have indoor plumbing, so there aren't any bathrooms. You'll also have to get used to doing things by torchlight, as there's no electricity. I've been meaning to build a generator, but I haven't had the time. You'll find food in one of the rooms. I always forget which one. As for books, they're in the library. It's the largest room. You can't miss it. Any questions?", Abyss explained.

Kenzy had indeed kept pace, though by the time they made it to the temple she was exhausted. Her gaze fell on the temple, it was large. She stood in awe as she listened to Abyss speak of the conditions. She nodded a little though her face showed that she was confused. She wasn't entirely sure what he meant but she'd figure it out eventually. She knew she wouldn't have to worry much about the dark, her fox like eyes helped with that a lot. Her gaze shifted back up to Abyss, " Sir.." she said faintly a slight frown on her face. "I can't read" she said shaking her head faintly before smiling a little. " Will you teach me?"

Abyss sighed. <It figures...>, he thought to himself. Out loud, "Well, seeing as there's apparently no one else willing to do so, yes, I will.", he replied, smiling despite his uncertainty. This certainly wasn't going to be easy... "I guess we'll rest for today... Tomorrow, though, I'll show you around my territory. You'll need to learn where the borders are, where the rivers and what-not can be found, and what is and isn't safe to eat. And some other things, too...", Abyss said, not really feeling like a long hike at the moment, and sure that Kenzy had to be at least as tired as he was. Besides, showing her to her room was more important now, as she had to put her stuff somewhere.

Kenzy nodded and smiled back then nodded " Kenzy knows what she can and can't eat" she said sounding certain of this. As far as she knew she did- though she'd always been in the city. This whole forest thing was going to be strange to her. She'd learn though. Her gaze scanned the area then back up to the temple " I want to go nini"she said then licked her lips again taking a step closer to the door her gaze shifted to Abyss to see if this action was indeed alright.
Her eyes were dead tired, she'd probably pass out if they stood here much longer and that was obvious. She smiled then let out a soft yawn Slowly she reached her hands out in front of her and as her hands were a few feet away from teh ground her body shifted into a smaller fuzzy white fox. She let out another yawn and streached her muscles.

"Okay. But I still have to show you the other stuff. Just to be sure.", Abyss replied. He smiled at the girl's comment about wanting to go to bed. He'd have been very surprised if she hadn't been tired. He nodded to her when she looked back. There were times when one did not need to be a Suval to know what someone else was thinking.
Abyss gently picked up the fox and carried her to the temple entrance, then, holding her in one hand, he opened the door with the other and carried her in, then closed the door. His footsteps echoed as he trotted through the temple to a small room with, oddly enough, a sleeping bag in it. "Never thought this would come in handy...", he muttered as he gently set Kenzy down, then shook the sleeping bag roughly to dislodge any bugs that might have decided to rest in it. Abyss then laid the sleeping bag down and waited to see if Kenzy would use it or not.

As she was picked up she curled close to Abyss her small head lightly nuzzling against his chest. A light purr passed her lips though it was interrupted by a yawn. When he opened the door Kenzy picked her head up curiously and examined the area around her sniffing lightly at the air as they moved down the hall. As they entered the room and Abyss spoke and set her down Kenzy curiously circled it sniffing at random places and rubbing her head against others.
When he was done waving the bag around Kenzy padded over to it and softly sniffted it before nuzzling into it head first only to reappear a moment latter back in human form. She let out another soft yawn her eyes already closed "thank you sir" she said softly nuzzling her head against the floor. Hopefully she could just remember this when she woke up.

"Your welcome.", Abyss said, unsure of what emotion he should be feeling at that moment. "You may, of course, use that sleeping bag until I can get you a proper bed. If you need to use the bathroom, there is none. You'll have to go outside. Or there's a marked door somewhere in this temple, but I don't suggest going there at night. It's got a hole in the floor. If you want water, there's a bucket somewhere in the library. We passed it on the way in.", Abyss explained, not really expecting her to remember it all, and making a mental note to lock the marked door so that she wouldn't go in. Just to be safe. "I'm going to go see if I can find some good berries. I'll be back sometime within the hour. Do not try to explore the temple yet. And, if you do, stay away from the stairs. I've removed some of the traps from the sublevels, but I'm not sure how many rooms this place has. I may not have gotten them all.", Abyss said, making a mental note to do a more thorough search later. And mentally berating himself for not having done so before bringing Kenzy to the temple. Abyss turned and left the room.
Abyss wandered around near the entrance to the temple. He felt fairly sure Kenzy wouldn't get into any danger, since he'd taken the precaution of locking the door to the sublevel and the marked door, but he still wasn't sure it would be a good idea to stray too far from the sanctuary, lest the girl try to find him. <I must be the world's worst father...>, he thought to himself, kicking the ground with his front left hoof, <I shouldn't have brought her here. Not until I was sure about the temple being safe...>, he continued, sighing, <What an idiot I am...>. Abyss looked up at the full moon. <Well, at least she's got someone to look after her now... That's more than she had before, I guess... But am I really cut out to be a parent?>, he thought, turning his attention once more to his search for berries.

Kenzy nodded faintly trying to remember everything he was saying. But her mind was so tried her body was so tired. Silently she listened to him leave. When he finally did she let out another soft yawn. Water actually sounded really good, silently she opened the door slowly. Her gaze shifted around. She couldn't even remember where she'd come in from. As she dropped back down to her hands she shifted back into a fox. Slowly she sniffed the air then slowly stepped out of the room. Though she sat down just outside of it. She'd get water when he came back this place was dark and scary. Slowly she snipped back into her room and let out a soft sigh.
She licked her lips then curled back up into the sleeping back keeping her fox like form to help keep warm. A soft yawn passed her lips and before she knew it she was sound asleep

Abyss searched the bushes near the temple as he continued to dwell on his mistakes. Had he been able to think about anything else, he'd have made some remark about how he was wasting a perfectly good night. Full moons were usually his favorite, with their quiet beauty and bright radiance. They were especially enjoyable when there was light cloud cover to help the moon play peek-a-boo. But this wasn't one of those nights. Abyss looked at the basket he'd used to put the berries in. It was about half-full. <Well, better call it a night, then...>, he thought to himself, then went back into the temple. As he passed the water bucket, Abyss picked it up. <I should put this near Kenzy's room.>, he thought, then headed in that direction. Abyss set the basket and the bucket on the ground by the door to Kenzy's room, then noticed that the door was open. Abyss hesitated, then peeked into the room. As he saw her sleeping, Abyss decided that, whatever the cost, he'd take care of the girl, and he'd do it properly, if at all possible. Abyss debated closing the door, but decided not to. He then trotted in the direction of his room, which was down the hall from hers.

In the early hours of the morning Kenzy's eyes slowly fluttered open. A soft yawn passed her lips and she stretched. She'd woken up before the sun, as she always did. As her eyes traveled around the room they held a great look of confusion. Where was she? This place didn't look familiar at all. Her stomach dropped faintly and she slowly stood on all fours keeping her Fox form. Silently she sniffed the air, so many smells. So very many smells. Her gaze shifted around the room. Her stuff was here so she'd agreed to come here. A yawn passed her lips and she stretched again. Carefully she padded to the half open door, upon seeing the water and the food she smiled. Wherever she was, they were taking care of her and this made her more at ease. Silently she ate a few berries then drank some of the water.
After that curiosity struck her. Where had she ended up in the events of yesterday? She glanced around then took a left heading down the hallway at a mild pace. A few lefts a few rights up some stairs and another right and she was already lost. This place was ten times bigger then she first thought. Silently she sat where she was examining the crumbling room she was sitting in. The stairs, if she could find the stairs she could get back to where she was! And she was off again trying to sniff her way back to the basement. Suddenly, a loud yelp passed her lips and she fell to the floor and whimpered her gaze falling on her hind leg that had been impaled by some sharp object. She couldn't see what it was, but it hurt! A soft whimper passed first, then it grew into her fox like cry that echoed through the hall she was in. She could only hope that someone else was here.

As soon as he'd heard the yelping, Abyss rushed toward Kenzy at full gallop. <What? I could swear I locked that door behind me... Unless...?>, he asked himself as he leapt up main stairs from the sublevel ten at a time. <Stupid, stupid, stupid!>, he berated himself, cursing his forggeting the stairs from the second story. Familiar hallways flashed by as he galloped toward Kenzy, taking the shortest routes he could think of.
As he turned one more corner, he nearly fell down the stairs he was seeking. Abyss flew down the stairs and stopped behing Kenzy. <Yep... Just as I thought...>, Abyss thought to himself, shaking his head at his mistake as he freed Kenzy's leg from the spike trap. Abyss carefully lifted Kenzy over the spikes, then set her down on the other side of a large doorframe. "Stay here.", he said, then turned toward the trap again, leaning down to examine it. <Well, it doesn't look like the spikes were poisoned, so she should be fine... But it seems this one was malfunctioning...>, he observes, noticing that the spikes hadn't risen all the way. Abyss set to work cutting through the spikes, felling them one-by-one by using high-pressure water to cut them. When he was finished, Abyss turned toward Kenzy. "Please try to contain your curiousity untill I've had time to remove all of the traps. I'll mark the walls and floor so you know where not to go.", he said, then picked her up again.

Kenzy was whimpering and licking at her hind leg when he came. She was nearly as afraid of him as she was about the fact she didn't know where she was. Yet this man freed her from the trap, and set her down ordering her to stay. A soft whimper passed her lips and she went back to licking her wound soft sobs and faint yelps passing her lips as she did. She didn't notice the work he was doing on the trap she was to busy trying to stand again, a yelp passing each time.
As the man turned back to her and spoke the puzzled look was probably obvious on her face despite the fact she was still in fox form. When he suddenly picked her up she freaked out flailing her body a moment before going to sink her teeth into his skin her body shaking in a panic. Though her resistance ended there and another yelp passed her lips, her leg hurt. A fainter yelp passed her lips followed by a whimper and she settled down her gaze back on her bleeding leg. A faint sound passed her lips, an uncertain half territorial warning.

Abyss galloped briskly, ignoring the sharp pain from the girl's bite, toward the one sanitized room in the temple: A spacious room which he used as something of a clinic/operating room. As he galloped, he found himself feeling as if something was off. "Kenzy? Are you okay? Do you know where you are?", he asked, deciding it would be best to check for disorientation. He'd check to make sure she hadn't lost too much blood later. For the time being, he kept a tight band of pressurised water over the wound to act as a bandage.
As soon as he entered the room, Abyss set Kenzy down on a stone table, and instructed her to stay there as he got some surgical thread, a surgical needle, a hypodermic needle, and some local anesthetic. He carefully sanitized the supplies, then trotted back over to Kenzy. "This may hurt a bit...", he said as he carefully injected the anesthetic, then waited for it to take effect, using his hydrokinesis to keep her blood inside her body. As soon as he was sure it had taken effect, Abyss carefully looked at the wound, not entirely sure if it would be something he could fix with the medical supplies he had on hand. He was confident, however, that he would be able to fix her up as long as the spike hadn't hit any major vessels or bones.

Kenzy gave up flailing, her bites and screams didn't do anything against this guy. A soft whimper passed her lips as he spoke to her. The tone of his voice, he was worried. She whimpered softly again "N-no.." she answered slowly "I don't...remember" she added on slowly. Silently she tired to force her brain to think and block out the pain. She couldn't remember where she was, but this man was worried about her. She could feel it in his heart rate, hear it in his voice. She bit her lip faintly and ever so slightly nuzzled against him.
When they entered the room Kenzy's body tensed. After she was sat on the table and he turned around she shifted back into human form. Slowly she turned her leg to look at the cut and a whimper passed her lips again "It hurts." she said softly her hand trailing down her leg to feel where the pain started. It'd be pretty bruises, but she could move her toes.. She bit her lip to focused to even hear Abyss, but she felt the needle and a loud yelp passed her lips as she pulled away looking at where she'd been poked. A look of confusion and hurt passed over her face as her gaze shifted to Abyss. Though, it didn't last long - she'd never been hit with an anesthetic before so it kicked in fairly fast. She'd be fine though, it hadn't broken or damaged anything to major, just enough that it would hurt her to walk for a good while.

<Great... She doesn't remember...>, Abyss thought to himself. From the tone of her voice, Abyss suspected that her inability to recall where she was probably had less to do with her injury and more to do with something else. "Can you count? If so, please count to ten.", he instructed, "Then look left, right, up, then down.", he added. He hoped that that would be a bit more telling. <This could be a bit tricky... I might not be able to tell if she's disoriented if she's normally forgetful... But I thought it was Suval who couldn't remember things to save their lives?>, he thought to himself, wondering what he was going to do. He smiled weakly when Kenzy nuzzled him, feeling slightly better, but still worried sick.
Abyss sighed with relief. It seemed that the spike had hit only muscle. It would take some stitches to close the wound, but at least it was something he could fix on the spot. Abyss quickly went to work stitching up the wound. "Kenzy, try to remember to stay on the first and second floors. The sublevel is still dangerous, because there are rooms and halls I haven't been in. The temple is far older than me, and it might even be older than the city. The poeple who built it designed it to protect many secrets, and they built many traps within it in order to do so.", Abyss explained as he stitched the wound shut, "I've disabled the ones on the first and second floors, because those are the floors I frequent. Before now, I've only ever gone into the sublevel when I first got here, and when I've needed to sell some treasures. I haven't gotten aroung to disabling the traps down there yet. Therefore, I need you to stay away from the sublevel, please.", he said, "Please turn over so I can close the other side of this wound.", he instructed.
